BuildOrBust (“we”, “our”, “us”) operates the website buildorbust.app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you sign in with Google OAuth, we receive your name, email address, and profile avatar from Google. We do not receive or store your Google password.

Usage Data: We collect information about your use of the service, including the ideas you submit for validation, the reports generated, your viability and clarity scores, and whether you choose to make reports public.

Payment Information: We do not collect, store, or process payment card data. All payment transactions are handled entirely by our third-party payment processor. We only receive confirmation of successful payments and subscription status.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

- Provide the BuildOrBust service, including generating validation reports.

- Send your idea descriptions to the Anthropic Claude API to generate market analysis reports.

- Manage your account, subscriptions, and report history.

- Display public reports in the community feed (only if you explicitly choose to make a report public).

- Communicate with you about your account or the service if needed.

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to providing the BuildOrBust service.

3. Third-Party Services

BuildOrBust relies on the following third-party services to operate:

Anthropic Claude API (report generation) — Your idea descriptions and target audience text are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate validation reports. Anthropic processes this data according to their privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy.

Supabase (database and authentication) — Your account data and reports are stored in Supabase. Supabase processes data according to their privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy.

Vercel (hosting) — BuildOrBust is hosted on Vercel. Vercel processes server requests according to their privacy policy at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Google (authentication) — We use Google OAuth for sign-in. Google processes your authentication data according to their privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

4. Data Storage and Retention

Your data is stored in Supabase cloud infrastructure. Reports and account data are retained for as long as your account is active.

When you delete your account, all associated personal data and reports are permanently deleted from our systems. To request account deletion, email hello@buildorbust.com.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

We share data only in the following circumstances:

- Third-party service providers: As described in Section 3, we share necessary data with our infrastructure providers (Supabase, Anthropic, Vercel) solely to operate the service.

- Public reports: If you choose to make a report public, your idea description, target audience, viability score, clarity score, and free-tier report data become visible to all BuildOrBust users and visitors through the community feed and public report URL. Your email address and account details are never shown publicly.

- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or government request.

6. Cookies

BuildOrBust uses only essential session cookies required for authentication. These cookies maintain your login session and are necessary for the service to function.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or any third-party cookies. We do not track you across other websites.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

- Access your data: View all your reports and account information through the BuildOrBust dashboard.

- Correct your data: Update your account information or report visibility settings at any time.

- Delete your data: Request complete deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing hello@buildorbust.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

- Make reports private: If you have made a report public, you can make it private again at any time, which removes it from the community feed and disables the public link.

- Export your data: You can download your reports as PDF files through the report page.

8. Children's Privacy

BuildOrBust is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has created an account, please contact us at hello@buildorbust.com and we will promptly delete the account and associated data.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page when changes are made. Continued use of BuildOrBust after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
